De Pijnders

A newborn calf.
Steaming fields in the morning.
That’s something else than waiting for the tram.

Six men of the Gild of the Porters are preparing themselves for the upcoming procession in the village. To be able to carry the barrow with the statue on the winding and hilly track, they have to train, sweat and suffer. And they have to agree, because they have a tumultuous relationship.

Through half conscious sentences, almost pathetic cries and absurd yet dramatic anecdotes we get a moving insight in the lives of this fierce gang.
